Southern Management Companies Signs Lease for New Office Space for Administrative Headquarters in McLean

Organization’s move is another significant investment in the future

VIENNA, Va. (June 30, 2022) — Southern Management Companies has signed a multiyear lease for new office space at Valo Park in McLean, Virginia.

“We needed a space reflective of who we are today and where we’re going tomorrow,” said President and CEO Suzanne Hillman. “Southern is a strong organization poised for growth. The move to Valo Park is a significant investment in our future.”

For Hillman, the decision is one of several signifying the organization’s strength and commitment to sustainability and growth. In 2020, Southern closed on a record-breaking $2.4 billion refinance of a significant portion of its multifamily portfolio. Southern remains committed to its long-term investments and growth, and is actively focused on capital improvement projects, redevelopment and acquisitions.

“Moving our Vienna office to Valo Park also demonstrates an investment in our team members. We want to retain high-performing team members as well as attract new ones. Valo Park offers them terrific amenities,” she added, noting a modern dining hall with a variety of food options, 24/7 health club, rooftop basketball and tennis courts, community garden, backyard gaming area, health-related events and more.

According to Hillman, the location is another attractive feature of Valo Park. Located at 7950 Jones Branch Drive, it is close to the Dulles Access Road and Capital Beltway. Additionally, Valo Park offers complimentary shuttle service to the nearby McLean and Tysons Corner Metro Stations, providing greater access to affordable mass transit options.

The Vienna corporate office, currently located at 1950 Old Gallows Road, is expected to move after completion of the buildout in the spring of 2023.
