Southern Management Earns Special Recognition from the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Baldrige Program

Southern Management Corporation

Southern Management Corporation (SMC) has been recognized by the Baldrige Performance Excellence Program for Best Practice Recognition in Category Five – Workforce. Winning Best Practice Recognition is a significant accomplishment as a first time applicant; only six organizations in the country received best practice recognition and SMC was the only organization to be recognized in this category.

“This brings us great joy, as category five is workforce focus, meaning we were recognized nationally for our amazing team members and the empowered work environment created by them and for them,” said Ron Frank, President and COO of Southern Management Corporation.

In August SMC was selected for a week long site visit from a team of Baldrige examiners who conducted interviews with hundreds of SMC team members, asking questions regarding every aspect of its business and day-to-day operations.

“Earning an official Baldrige Award site visit was quite an honor. This allowed us to really shine and show off all aspects or SMC. Our team truly shined on a national level and we were recognized for that excellence.” Frank continued.
